Simple Wine Is Anything but a Flaw
Let’s talk about simple wine.
At T’as un Grain, we stand for wines that are good, accessible, and—above all—easy to understand.
So yes, we’re right on topic.
Let’s talk about simple wine.
At T’as un Grain, we stand for wines that are good, accessible, and—above all—easy to understand.
So yes, we’re right on topic.
A simple wine is one you get right away.
No manual required.
Just a wine that makes you want a second glass—not a dictionary.
As a certain Monsieur Apollinaire once said: “Beauty is, most of the time, nothing but simplicity.”
It’s easier to make things complicated… and way harder to make them simple.
Simplicity isn’t laziness.
It’s work—real work.
Fermented grape juice that’s clean, balanced, and honest.
Wines that stand on their own, no smoke and mirrors needed.
It was Jean-Paul, Martin’s dad from Domaine René Meyer, who really drove that point home for us:
Make things simple, unpretentious—something people can buy, enjoy, and come back for.
Maybe that’s the real secret of a good wine: its simplicity.
Simple doesn't mean banal
That’s also why we choose the winemakers we do.
They craft real wines—made to be drunk, not displayed.
Wines that end up on tables, not in glass cases.
They work so the wine is good—and enjoyed.
And honestly, that’s already huge.
We’re not here to oppose styles.
We love the grands crus and the exceptional cuvées too.
But let’s be honest: for most of life’s moments, a good, simple wine does the job perfectly.
A fair price, a clear taste, and a bottle that brings people together instead of trying to impress them.
Simple, Not Simplistic
Wine is meant to bring people together, not to show off your vocabulary.
You don’t need a diploma to say, “I like what I’m drinking.”
If it makes people smile around the table, that’s what counts.
At T’as un Grain, we try to make wine simple.
Simple to understand, simple to choose, simple to love.
And maybe, that’s what real luxury is all about.
See you soon!
